It's fair to say that the 2021 Varsity Tigers were chomping at the bit to start the 2021 season.  Their previous season, 2020, had been severely disrupted by the COVID-19 virus.  And suffice it to say, the energy showed as the team won the 2021 Lake Erie League Championship, a feat that the players, especially the graduating seniors, will remember as a highlight of their high school baseball career.

Like seasoned teams that finish the previous season strong (like the 2021 Varsity Tigers which posted a record of 18 wins and only 6 losses, capturing the Lake Erie League Championship) and then face a rebuilding year due to Senior graduations, the Tigers faced similar rebuilding at the start of the 2022 season.  And its record bore evidence of this fact.  The 2022 Varsity Tigers built a record of 13 wins, 25 losses and 2 ties. Its fair to say that the 2022 Varsity Tigers' Season was to be a rookie training camp of sorts.
